Welcome to Kindergifts!

children's birthday party

A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Ours began two years ago when two little girls, Stella and Isabella, celebrated with Kindergifts and sent the very first party invitations with gift and charity details. Instead of presents, they asked their friends to support The Feuerstein Institute, a charity that helps children with special needs such as their little brother, Luca.

“It was simple and easy for our guests to contribute what they would normally spend on a party gift. The girls received a telescope as a collective birthday present and were so happy to support a charity that’s so close to our hearts.”

Why Kindergifts? We often get this question

Nothing beats the joy of finding that perfect present for someone we know really well. But how often do we buy gifts for people we don’t know that well? Or struggle for ideas to get something meaningful they don’t already have and at a reasonable cost? When it comes to children’s birthday parties there are simply way too many presents, plastic and waste.

Having organised and attended a number of birthday parties for my own children, I quickly realised that things have gone out of control these days. Parties have become larger; we often invite the whole class. Everyone brings a present and before we know it, it’s a mountain of gifts. Way too many to be fully appreciated, looking sad and quickly forgotten in a corner of a room. There is inevitably a lot of plastic, duplicates and excess wrapping scattered all over the place. Collectively, we spend a huge amount of money on things that don’t benefit our children and end up being wasted, instead of helping people.

But does it have to be that way? With Kindergifts, we’d like to offer parents an alternative way to celebrate that makes gift giving easy for the guests and meaningful for the child, in a way that’s socially appealing and teaches children about being kind, giving back and helping others. After all, aren’t those the very first values that we, as parents, want to instill in our children?

We’d love to hear your thoughts and comments.
