Party Ideas

Virtual parties for grown ups

It’s been a long winter and an even longer lockdown but just because we can’t get together it doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate life’s important milestones, this time only virtually. Throwing a party always needs a bit of effort and imagination, and a virtual celebration is no exception. So we’ve put together our top tips on how to make your V-Party super special but also easy to organise.

Step 1: Send an invitation

Get your friends excited with an online invitation that sets the party theme and makes it different to a standard Zoom call.

We’ve created a range of cheerful invitations that are easy to customise with your photos, text and party details. You can also add a special message to your guests. Just select the ‘virtual event’ option and add a video call link in the venue field.

Step 2: Choose how to entertain your guests

By now the entertainment market has been thoroughly tried and tested to deliver exciting experiences for small and large groups of various interests. You can choose from a wide range of activities delivered by expert entertainers so you don’t have to do anything but relax and enjoy the time with your friends. There are so many options – from cocktail mixing to cooking classes, murder mystery challenges, escape rooms, magician shows and plenty more.

Take a look at the Virtual Entertainment section we’ve curated with the best party experiences you can book through Kindergifts for your next event.

Step 3: Create some party vibes

Even though your guests will not be coming to your home, creating a festive atmosphere is a must. It helps to feel those party vibes!

Use colour, candles and balloons to help you get into the party spirit. Here is how we suggest matching our Joyful invitation design with beautiful paper honeycombs and fan set by Michaela from House of Chester, candle glass holders from Talking Tables and stunning balloons from Wish Dust Balloons.

Step 4: Connect all the guests

Sending something to the guests in advance such as a bottle of wine or a sweet treat is a nice gesture and a good topic of conversation between people, especially if they don’t all know each other. We suggest sending cakesicles that match your birthday cake, such as those from Belsize Cakes. They will come in handy at the end when everyone sings the “Happy birthday” song.

Step 5: Gifting and giving

A gift etiquette for virtual parties is still work in progress, which gives us a wonderful opportunity to be kinder when celebrating online.

Why not suggest a small donation towards a good cause that’s close to heart? With so many people struggling right now, what could be kinder or more appropriate than sharing a bit of love on your special day? Our invitations make it easy for everyone to donate when they RSVP. The donations are optional and merely for the convenience of your guests in case they are thinking of a present. And because it’s such a nice gesture and so easy to do, most people feel compelled to donate.

We partner with over 40 local grassroots charities that provide vital services to people in need such as food & shelter, clothing, education, social inclusion and wellbeing. We also work with some very special international charities that help children and families in the developing world.

If your charity is not on our list, please get in touch and we will add them.

Happy Birthday!
